Shovels and Rope Are Worth The Gold
From what I hear marriage takes work. As do musical partnerships. Well Shovels and Rope seem to have it down on both fronts; married and an incredibly popular, classic Americana folk duo.
Their harmonies are so tight they could strangle you. And you’ll be able to get up and jig to the upbeat numbers, if that’s your thing, but Shovels and Rope also write songs of substance. They’ve written about violence and racism in their native Charleston; US immigration policy and their experiences raising a family together. Their raspy vocals, harmonicas and guitar tell important stories with a joyous musical backdrop. At turns soulful, at others swaggering rock n roll; Shovels and Rope are going to put on quite the show.
This is one of those hot tickets that is likely to sell out fast (genuinely, not a marketing scam to panic you, but this one is likely to be popular)… So hurry if you are interested in going.
