Tizane is only 22yo but performs with the art and polish of a seasoned veteran. Accompanied by her band/army she is delivering blistering gigs which effortlessly span across her many musical identities. From plaintive ‘Sad Girl’ through to Blitzkrieg Emo she is setting crowds alight across London’s Camden music venues and beyond.
‘Forever is Nothing’ has arrived. Full of angst-ridden anthems, all ten songs serve up a beguiling brew of lyrical lament and gut-wrenching guitar, cooked up for brave hearts and big stages. Heavy Magazine said this – ‘You can almost feel the venom simmering just below the surface, and it sounds like this lady has a bit of anger and angst to let loose on the world’. Tiz is about to turn 22 and she has served up an album here worthy of a long-life work. Music and Television critic, Garry Bushell wrote in the Daily Mirror: ‘People compare her with Phoebe Bridgers but actually her music is much bolder and rockier! She wrong foots you with gentle intros that grow into huge festival anthems.’ People are speaking highly too of the ‘Tizane Band’ which celebrates its first-year birthday today (23/06/23). Joining Tizane on both writing and playing duties are Charlie Harris on guitar, Greg Titmarsh on drums and Nathan Gordon on bass.
Get to know Tizane during our interview below 🙂
- How did you get into music?I’ve been singing since i can remember, but officially started making my own music when i was about 15. My mum has sung her whole life too so i was inspired by her, and still am.
- What bands inspired your style and how do you differ to your roots? It originally started with Eva cassidy, Kate bush but has moved more onto a paramore style! i love paramore, how their music is a mixture of rock and pop, so i thought i’d add a bit of darkness and softness to that sound and here we are 🙂
- What would you say thrills your soul?Music, production as well, i love producing and playing with soundscapes. there is so much to learn within production and i’ll never stop learning.
- If you were to get stuck on a lonely Island, which would be the 3 albums you’ll take with you?Probably a mac miller album, i couldn’t pick just one. The classic Paramore album ‘riot’ and lastly ‘songbird’ Eva Cassidy
- Beatles Vs Stones?Beatles!
- Do you believe in aliens?100%
