Black Doldrums ‘Hideaway’
In anticipation of their upcoming album ‘In Limerence’ post-punk legends Black Doldrums have released ‘Hideaway’ as the first single.
I’d like to start by commending the cover art for this, it’s really clean and emotive! In classic Black Doldrums style the track starts with a tense, urgent guitar and blooms into a tribal beat. The chorus is hooky in a way I haven’t seen from these guys before – it’s really cool! The song takes me back to their packed Camden Assembly show with us earlier this year; it’s primal, raw, and demands attention.
Stay tuned for their upcoming album ‘‘In Limerence’! You can catch them playing at The Moth Club on the 1st November.

Teiger’s Talie in the new Boss Katana advert
Teiger’s lead singer and guitarist Talie was recently featured in the new Boss Katana advert. If you are a guitarist like me, you know just how cool it is to be chosen to represent such an iconic company, and to be the face of what has become a modern classic amplifier.
Teiger are CMDN veterans and it’s just the biggest pleasure watching their unique brand of prog rock being represented on a global scale with partnerships like this. Talie’s playing is a sight to behold with her baffling fingerpicking intricacy – it’s not a surprise that Boss wanted her for this!
Catch Teiger live in Camden in November, tickets below!

Belle Roscoe ‘The Birds’
‘The Birds’ is a Jack Savoretti meets Fleetwood Mac ballad with a soulful vintage patina.
The brother and sister duo have that wonderful blend of voices that blood brings, perfectly complementing each other and soaring over the 70’s tinged rhythm section. ‘The Birds’ is melancholy but in an easy listening kind of way – it’s like the smell of rain.
Belle Roscoe played a sold out show at the iconic Pizza Express Live on Friday which I’m sad to have missed – It’s always such a pleasure to see them do their thing.

The Ovines return!
We were fortunate enough to be part of The Ovines first show back after reforming last Friday, and what a show it was. Four amazing bands brought the heat and we sold out. It was my first time seeing The Ovines and they really stood out to me.
Punky, ska filled riffs and Matt’s metronomic rhythm guitar got the crowd bopping and connected straight away. Alumni supporters of The Libertines, Sports Team, and The Sherlocks it’s great to see these guys back in business! I really look forward to seeing what the future holds for them.

The High Points ‘Dreaming’
Funk Rockers The High Points latest offering ‘Dreaming’ is a butter smooth Sunday morning soundtrack.
The track begins with some spicy laid back chords and eases itself into a gentle marching beat that keeps your head bopping throughout. The chorus is catchy as anything and the production is silky and slick. ‘Dreaming’ is a song best served alongside margaritas on the beach.
The High Points return to Camden on the 26th September. Come and catch a vibe.

The Lunar Effect ‘Flowers for Teeth’
‘Flowers for Teeth’, the single track off The Lunar Effect’s 2024 album ‘Sounds Of Green & Blue’ is a storming psych rock banger.
Wrapped in a thick coat of fuzz, the song pushes mercilessly forward with riff after riff of bluesy goodness. The Robert Plant-esque vocal floats over the top of the swampy rhythm section and provides the perfect contrast.
We have some exciting news lined up with these guys. Stay tuned!
