The Rifles Rock’n’Record
The Rifles are the best band you’ve never heard of. They’ve got a spunky 90s Motown vibe, with an edge of ska. Think Verve / Oasis / Madness. Edgy, fun and a little bit rowdy, you can expect mass sing-alongs, dancing and maybe even crowd surfing. Good times.
The coolest thing about this Roundhouse gig is that the Rifles will be turning it into their first live album. So if you’re there, you’ll be a part of their recordings! This is a must for out and out fans.
Joel Stoker (vocals, guitar), Lucas Crowther (guitar, vocals), Rob Pyne (bass guitar), Grant Marsh (drums) and Dean Mumford (keyboard), are set to beat out their catchy indie-rock tracks.
They are touring their new album, The Rifles’ Greatest Escape – celebrating 10 years since the release of their second album, Great Escapes. Their first festival was in Ilford playing to about three people. Now they’re playing the Roundhouse. That’s what happens when a band just won’t leave the scene.
Want a proper night out? The Rifles will sound good with a cheap beer and your mates. “If it’s worthwhile doing, you gotta go on and do it ‘ent ya?” the lead, Joel, once said. That’s Saturday night sorted then.
