Get Ready for an Epic Night of Rock’n’Roll on August 30th! 🎸

If you’re a fan of high-energy, genre-blending rock music, then clear your schedule for August 30th because we have a night you won’t want to miss! 🎤 Join us for an electrifying evening featuring two incredible bands, And the Sunset Burns, Velvet Grip, Strangers and Mark Shepherd with two more acts yet to be announced. This is set to be a show that will leave you buzzing long after the last chord fades.

Meet the Bands

And the Sunset Burns is a band that knows how to blend the old with the new, the familiar with the exotic. With Spanish roots and a London base, they’re a contemporary rock band that weaves together influences from legends like The Rolling Stones and The Doors with the soulful energy of Latin artists such as Enrique Bunbury. The band was formed by school friends Danny (vocals and guitar) and Isma (bass) in Spain, and later joined by Londoners Ruben (drums and vocals) and Alex (guitar). Their music is as diverse as their background, with each song chasing a different feeling, making their sound both unpredictable and captivating. Since releasing their first singles in 2023, recorded at top studios in Hackney and Kingston Upon Thames, And the Sunset Burns has been lighting up stages across London. Their unique blend of styles and powerful performances make them a band you simply have to experience live.

Velvet Grip is another powerhouse on the lineup. Formed in 2022, this four-piece band brings together the raw energy of Southern Rock, the soul of Blues, the complexity of Jazz, and the intensity of Hard Rock and Metal. The band’s lineup—Adam Francis (vocals), Adam Halpin (lead & rhythm guitar), Dominik Schuttler (bass), and Liud Carter (drums)—comes from diverse musical backgrounds, which contributes to their distinctive sound. Velvet Grip’s music is a rollercoaster of emotions, with each track offering something different, yet always delivering that unmistakable rock’n’roll edge. Their performance on August 30th promises to be nothing short of unforgettable, with their unique blend of styles set to ignite the stage.

Strangers is a four-piece rock band hailing from the southeast of England, formed in 2020. Fronted by George Sanders, who also plays guitar, the band features Dylan Stubbings on drums, Matt Latter on bass, and Tom Carey on guitar. Known for their anthemic, raspy vocals and heavy guitar riffs, Strangers bring a fresh yet familiar sound to the modern rock scene, drawing inspiration from every decade. They’ve made waves in the industry, earning a spot as one of BBC Introducing’s ‘Top Picks of 2022’ and being described as “Arena Ready.” They’ve also been featured on “Shakey’s Sessions on CCR,” “Phoenix FM,” and “Radio Essex.”

Mark Shepherd is a Cambridge-based singer-songwriter known for his distinctive baritone and dark, thought-provoking brand of acoustic rock/Americana. His music, characterized by its rough warmth, explores the deeper, stygian side of life and leaves a lasting impact on listeners. Mark’s work has garnered praise from Fireworks Magazine, which lauded his emotional and high-standard Americana—a genre often dominated by Americans.

With features on BBC Introducing and numerous radio stations and blogs, Mark has performed across the UK and USA at notable venues such as The Cambridge Folk Festival, London’s O2 Academy Islington, and New York’s Rockwood Music Hall. A musical omnivore, his influences span from Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin to Kraftwerk and Miles Davis.

Mark’s solo discography began with the 2017 album Bad Man, followed by a series of EPs and singles, including his 2024 release Something Going On. His music is widely available on digital platforms, continuing to resonate with fans on both sides of the Atlantic.
