The allure to get on the stage at Camden’s Dublin Castle, as we all know, reaches well beyond North London. Bertille des Fontaines was fortunate to get a performing slot on January 23rd, 2020 and she played her heart out. This chanteuse based in Paris, brought her guitar and passion to fill the room with evocative vocals and strong chords. The notes on her blog share with us that she is inspired by Barbara, Ferré, and the muses from Paris, endowed with a libertarian soul, a voice embodied, and her faithful guitar, Marguerite.

She invoked the great troubadour spirit for her show by saying: I am very touched to sing to you tonight some of my french songs about dreams and love, hope and freedom, like in Parisian way: «D’Amour et D’eau fraîche », which means, «to live on love alone». It was quite an Odyssey, to come here and bring my light to you, but If I had to, I was ready to cross the sea like a Siren adrift just for you. So, this is just for you…

Hopefully, she will be back across to play in Camden again soon.
