Ever feel like you’re not inspiring enough? That’s because you’re probably not.

Keith Xander, lead singer and guitarist of Liverpool-based blues outfit Xander and the Peace Pirates, was born without a right forearm, but still plays the guitar expertly. Xander uses a prosthetic hook with a guitar pick attached, and you can see him and the rest of the band in action at the award-winning Green Note in Camden.

Joining the ranks of other great bands from Liverpool, this group have shared the stage with legends such as Keith Richards, Bon Jovi and Buddy Guy and they were the band in residence at Liverpool’s world famous Cavern Club for five years. Inspired by Woodstock and the 70s era of peace and love, Xander and the Peace Pirates are a band with a message – one of peace, harmony and tolerance.

Xander hasn’t gone the full Morrissey yet, but this vegan does believe meat is murder. The band’s sound is a seamless blend of blues, rock, soul and country with a strong rootsy vibe, featuring powerful guitar riffs by Keith ‘the one-armed wonder’ Xander. You can expect a show brimming with energy and charisma – check out their song “Fire” on Spotify to get in the mood for the gig!
