What’s on in Camden this week?!
OUR CMDN PICKS FOR YOU
Discover the best live music in Camden this week,
between 26th and 31st of July 🙂
This is how we at Camden Live would recommend spending this week if you want to explore live music in the next few days:
Wednesday 26th of July
Atomic Rooster at Forge – 70s Rock
Recommended by: Nila
Seminal British Prog Rock group Atomic Rooster were formed from the ashes of the The Crazy World of Arthur Brown in 1969. Their debut gig was at the Lyceum in London (supported by Deep Purple) and their first self-titled album was released in 1970. It was after the release of Death Walks Behind You that they had their first taste of UK chart success with Tomorrow Night and Devil’s Answer. Really cool 70s rock band that you shouldn’t miss!!
Thursday 27th of July
Airbourne at O2 Kentish Town – Hard Rock
Recommended by: Nila
All-action Aussie rockers Airbourne have a raw live energy and music to match. They are straight-down-the-line pure rock ‘n’ roll drama smelling of burnt rubber, spilt gasoline and valves glowing red hot. I’ve seen them back in 2013 at Rock am Ring, without knowing them and as an AC/DC fan highly appreciated seeing these guys live – very recommended!
With support from Black Spiders – originally planned to be the Blues Pills but unfortunately needed to cancel due to sickness / Tickets: £38.50
Friday 28th of July
Jukebox Monkey at the Dev – Stoner Rock/Sludge/Alt Rock
Recommended by: Nila
Personally, as a massive stoner rock fan, I’m really digging their sound!! Jukebox Monkey – a stoner / grunge /alt. rock juggernaut formed in 2010 Kent, UK – have been ripping their way through the UK’s underground heavy music scene, building a reputation for pounding sonic assault live shows and infectious party attitude. Defined by their monolithic foot-stomping sound that has evolved to combine the expansive low-end power of desert rock, with the heavy groove of southern sludgy metal and the raw energy of 90’s alt rock.
With Support from: Purple Kong, Drones / Tickets at the Door
Saturday 29th of July
Never The Bride at the Green Note – Blues Rock
Recommended by: Jon
Big rock/blues vocals from Nikki Lamborn will literally blow the doors off the intimate stage. Daltry says she sings like Janis. Let’s us know if that’s true!
Green Note Saturday 29 July / Tickets £17.50
The Whistlin’ Donkeys at the Electric Ballroom – Irish folk/Celtic rock
Recommended by: Nila
Hailing from County Tyrone the band consists of 6 members with Fergal McAloon on vocals, Tomas Quinn on Banjo, Mickey Kerr on Fiddle, Stevie Corrigan on Guitar, Danny McCormack on bass and Oscar Bradley on Drums. The band have most recently toured Canada, USA, Europe and Dubai as well as filling venues across Ireland. With their unique sound of Irish folk/Celtic rock you are sure to have a foot stamping, hand clapping night to remember.

The Camden Fringe is a performing arts festival, established in 2006, which takes place in Camden during August. Previous fringe events have encompassed new writing, opera, musicals, stand-up, sketch comedy, dance, cabaret, poetry, opera, mentalism, improvisation and Q&As. Shows take place throughout the day and generally last one hour. The Camden Fringe aims to give anyone the chance to perform and showcase their talents, from very experienced performers and companies, to ambitious newcomers.
